Description

IC1871, part of the Soul Nebula also known as Sh2-199 and LBN667, 7500 light years distant in the constellation Cassiopeia. Like other massive star-forming regions, such as Orion and Carina, W5 contains large cavities that were carved out by radiation and winds from the region's most massive stars. Telescope: CFF-185 mm APO & SBIG STL-11000 & Astrodon 3nm Ha, OIII and SII Filters. Ha = 67 x 1200 sec, OIII = 47 x 1200 sec. SII = 46 x 1200 sec. Total = 53 Hours.
